Two huskies have been safely reunited with their owners after they were found running along a road in the middle of the night.

Officers came across the dogs at around 2am on Thursday (21 February) while carrying out routine patrols in the Slyfield area of Guildford.

Police said they were "running towards traffic on an unlit road with a 50mph speed limit" when they were spotted.

Both animals were caught by officers on Woking Road, before they were transported to safety, scanned and returned to their owners in good health.

It's believed the animals had escaped from a nearby property.
