Broken glass shuts Stoke Park paddling pool

Published at 12:07pm 4th September 2018. (Updated at 6:31pm 4th September 2018)

The paddling pool in Guildford's Stoke Park has had to be shut after broken glass was found in the water.

Guildford Borough Council said work is underway to drain and clean the pool following the discovery of "less than a handful of broken glass" last Sunday (September 2).

The water will be tested before the pool is reopened.

The council also said that "such incidents are rare" - and it apologised for any inconvenience caused.

Check the council's website for confirmation of opening dates.
