Clandon to Guildford train line blocked

Published at 2:44pm 8th August 2018. (Updated at 2:53pm 8th August 2018)

Disruption on the Clandon to Guildford train line is expected until 5pm this evening.

The line is currently blocked due to an emergency safety inspection of the track at Clandon.

South Western Railway say train services running through this station may be delayed or diverted.

What They're Doing About It

A member of train crew noticed a potential track defect near Clandon station.

Until this can be assessed by Network Rail staff no trains can travel through Clandon towards Guildford.

Trains may be diverted via Woking or terminated at Effingham Junction.

If you are travelling from London and require Hinchley Wood, Claygate, Oxshott, Horsley, Clandon or London Road, you should travel to Guildford and change there for a train back up.

If you are at any of these stations requiring travel to Guildford, please use a help point or travel to Surbiton for a train back down.

Should you need help completing your journey, please speak to a member of staff or use a help point at any station.

South Western Railway has apologised for any delays that this may cause to your journey today.
