The pair failed to stop on Monday in the uninsured car they were driving, after being spotted by officers soon after 3pm.

They were chased off the A3 at Burpham towards Worplesdon/Stoughton -  and then crashed into another vehicle at around 3:20pm on Salt Box Road. Jacobs Well, where they then made off on foot.

After a search involving dog units, the 18 and 20 year-old men were later found in Lyons Drive and Hamilton Close in Guildford.

The car was found on Princess Mary Close in Queen Elizabeth Park, Stoughton.

The two were arrested for seven drug and driving offences - including:

  • Dangerous driving
  • Failing to stop
  • Leaving the scene of an accident
  • Driving without insurance
  • Dangerous driving
  • Possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply
  • Going equipped-  possessing items used to commit crime.

Surrey Police PC Matthew Crane said: “This was a great team effort from members of our Roads Policing Unit, Area Patrol Team, Dog Unit, ARV and others but we would also like to thank members of the public who helped our officers by directing them to where the males had been seen.

"We are pleased to say that no injuries were sustained by the passengers of the vehicle that they crashed into whilst driving so erratically through the streets of Guildford.”

Both males have been released under investigation.
