Guildford Beer Festival returns for 9th year

Published at 5:23pm 15th June 2018. (Updated at 5:25pm 15th June 2018)

Over 120 different types of beers and ciders all from within 30 miles of Guildford will be available at the town's annual beer festival, which starts this evening (15 June).

There will also be locally-produced wine and, after a hugely popular debut last year, the gin bar run by Surrey Hills' Silent Pool distillers will also return.

The two day event, which takes place at Guildford Cricket Club along Woodbridge Road, starts at 6pm this evening.

Chairman James Faulkner tell us its not just about the beer and cider: "Throw in live music, food and our incredible open-air location at Guildford Cricket Club and you can see why it's such a popular and fun event."

Two large marquees will contain plenty of indoor and outdoor seating and, for the designated drivers, there is free parking at the event.

The £10 ticket includes a commemorative tasting glass and program, and CAMRA members are entitled to a free pint upon showing their CAMRA membership card.

Tickets for the Friday evening session are sold out, but you can still buy tickets for either of the Saturday afternoon or evening sessions on the Guildford Beer Festival website.
