A fire has broken out in a multi-storey car park in Guildford.

Firefighters were called out to the Leapale Road car park just after 2:30am today where they found the eighth floor alight.

Four fire engines attended - three from Guildford and one from Woking.

They used two hose reels and four breathing apparatus to put out the blaze.

South East Coast Ambulance and Surrey Police were also called out.

One person was led to safety by firefighters - it is being reported no-one was injured.

The flames were out by 3:45am.

Up to five square metres of the building has been damaged.

Surrey Fire and Rescue say the fire was started deliberately - and police are still on the scene.
