Bellfields attack leaves man with fractured eye socket

Published at 6:28pm 11th April 2018. (Updated at 6:27am 12th April 2018)

A man has been left injured after an attack in Guildford.

He was walking through an alleyway linking Woking Road to Almond Close in Bellfields on Sunday April 8 at around 2am.

He was part of a group of four - including three men and a woman -  who became involved in an altercation with some teenagers who were passing by on bikes.

He suffered a fractured eye socket and multiple cuts to the face.

Another man was injured in the stomach.

Neither of these are thought to be life-threatening.

Police are keen to hear from anyone who heard anything, or saw a group of teenagers cycling away from the alleyway.

The officer in charge of the case, Police Constable Toby Hill said: “If you were driving past this alleyway at around 2am and you have a Dash-Cam in your car, you may have caught something, so please get in contact with us.

"If your friends or people you know have been talking about an incident like this on Snapchat or Instagram, or you have noticed someone with injuries which could have been received in a fight, call 101 and tell us.

"If you are a parent and you noticed your child coming home with any injuries, or you are aware of an incident like this being talked about on social media, let us know."

Anyone with any information is asked to contact police by calling 101, quoting the reference number PR/45180036167.
