Guildford choir sings for Farnborough charity

Published at 9:27pm 20th March 2018.

The  Mustard Seed Autism Trust is strapped for cash, so a Guildford choir has released a song to raise money for them.

The Farnborough charity announced earlier this week it would have to turn away new families as it didn't have the funds or staff it needed.

Luckily, Guildford based Motivation by Music Gospel Choir, released a single in the same week with all the money going to The Mustard Seed Autism Trust.

The song is called Sun-kissed Bridge, and you can download and listen to it and  make a donation to the charity at the same time.

Emily Bollon who started the choir, explained the special connection, "The first few lines of Sun-kissed Bridge are about taking brave steps with just the tiniest seed of faith.

"You just have to believe you can reach your goals,

"When we met the fantastic team at Mustard Seed and heard how they had started their work with families of autistic children we just knew it was their song.”

Both organisations met thanks to  Eagle Radio's Local Heroes awards ceremony last year.

Emily Bollon won her Music and the Arts award for motivating the community and supporting sufferers of Parkinson's disease.

The Mustard Seed won the Charity award for the help it provides young people and families with autism.

Sarah Clements, one of the founders of the Mustard Seed said, "The words ( of the song) really reflect our journey, from the tiny seed that has grown into an organisation supporting hundreds of families in our local community."

The University of Surrey helped the project providing recording studios with technical support from its music students.
