A man has been jailed a year on from a stabbing incident in Guildford's Wetherspoons pub.

On March 9 2017, Mark Ian Golding was removed from the Bridge Street premises following a verbal altercation with another group.

The 52 year-old then went back to his home in Springside Court, Guildford, where he put on a ski mask and picked up two knives.

He returned to the same Wetherspoons to find the group he had argued with earlier.

On arrival he punched one man unconscious before kicking him on the floor. He then pulled out a knife when another man tried to help his friend, stabbing the victim in the hand.

He was later detained by police on Parkway after speeding off in a BMW.

Golding appeared at Blackfriars Crown Court last week Thursday (March 8), where he pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possession of a bladed article and driving with excess alcohol.

He has been jailed for three and a half years and has also been disqualified from driving for 39 months.
