Travellers pitch up at park in Burpham

Published at 4:30pm 6th March 2018. (Updated at 9:34am 8th March 2018)

Travellers who have parked up in Burpham must move on by tomorrow, according to Guildford Borough Council.

They have been given a direction to leave today (Tuesday 6 March), along with bin bags to clear up rubbish on the site.

Police are also aware of the situation after the group arrived at Sutherland Memorial Park on Monday with over ten caravans.

The council has asked them to leave 'as soon as practically possible' before midday on Wednesday 7 March, threatening legal action if that doesn't happen.
