Prosecco o'clock for shoppers in Guildford!

Fancy a bit of fizz while you shop?

From March 3, Surrey-based prosecco van Popped Truck Ltd. will be "popping up" in House of Fraser.

The novel addition to the department store will serve shoppers flutes of the fizzy stuff, as well as prosecco cocktails, on the upper ground floor near the beauty hall.

It will not hit your wallet too hard either - prices are £4 for a glass, or £5 for a 'poptail' including:

  • English Garden (gin, elderflower & prosecco)
  • Sorrento Sparkle (limoncello & prosecco)
  • Prosecco Royale (crème de cassis & prosecco)

Proprieter Amie Sparrow started the venture three years ago after the company she worked for became bankrupt.

“I decided to take matters into my own hands and start my own company - something I could have fun with"... "and Popped Truck was born."

However, the "corker" of an idea originated back in Chicago - Amie's home town: "I used to drive an ice cream truck as a summer job. My friends and I would joke about having an adult one selling alcohol.

“Having our prosecco van inside the department store creates such a fun, unique experience - who wouldn’t want a flute of prosecco while shopping.”

Prosecco lovers will be able to sip on bubbles as they browse on Saturdays between 9am-6pm and on Sundays between 10.30am-5pm throughout March.
