An 18-year-old woman who died in a crash in Abinger Hammer has been named locally as Rose Spencer.

Emergency services rushed to the A25 near to the junction with Raikes Lane at around 8:20pm on Monday evening.

Woking Coroner's Court has confirmed Miss Spencer was pronounced dead at the scene.

The road was shut in both directions for several hours while emergency services were at the scene.

The drivers of both cars involved, a male in his teens and a woman in her 50s, were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The inquest into Rose Spencer's death opens tomorrow.

It's understood she was a student at St Peter's Catholic School in England.

'Our lives won't be the same without her'

A fundraising page set up by friends of Rose was launched to help her family with funeral costs and reached its £1,500 target in just 21 hours.

Lauren Mcdermott, one of three of to set up the page, said: “I’d just like to say how grateful we are for the donations; it really shows how adored Rose was and how many people wanted to help make her send off as beautiful as she was herself.

"Our lives won’t be the same without her.”

The fundraising page for Rose can be found here.
