Published at 3:29pm 5th January 2018.

A man has been released under investigation for "outraging public decency" at the Friary Centre in Guildford.

He was allegedly caught masturbating in a cubicle of the third floor toilets, with the door open, on January 2nd.

Surrey Police are now appealing for witnesses - and say it happened between 1.30pm and 2.30pm.

Officers are looking for people who were there at the time who may have seen or heard something.

In particular, they are looking for the witness who reported the incident but left before our officers arrived.

He is described as a man in his 50s wearing a red coat with a grey jumper underneath.

He was bald with hair on the side of his head and was carrying two large Sainsburys bags.

PC Jack Lainchbury said: "This was a serious incident which may have been witnessed by a number of people.

"If you were the person who reported this to security, you know who this witness was or indeed you saw or heard something suspicious, I would urge you to contact Surrey Police with any information."

If you have any information regarding this incident or the witness please call 101 and quote reference number 4180000590.

A man was arrested at the time on suspicion of outraging public decency and has since been released under investigation.
