Man seriously injured in Stoke Park attack

Published at 4:42pm 26th September 2017.

A man has been seriously injured after being attacked by a gang in Stoke Park.

It happened as the victim and his friend were walking home on Friday night (22 September).

The man was punched in the face and head, after objects were thrown at his friend.

The assault took place between 10.15 and 10.30pm and involved a group of between 10 and 15 men and women.

The group threw items at the victim’s friend before one of the group attacked the victim, punching him in the face and head.

The victim was left with a serious cut near his eye and it is believed the suspect was wearing a number of rings or a knuckle-duster.

The suspects are all in their late teens or early 20s and were wearing hooded tops and dark clothing.

PC James Fraser, who is investigating the incident, said: “This was an unprovoked and violent attack on an innocent member of the public.

"The victim has sustained an injury very close to his eye socket, which could have been life-changing.

"He has also been left extremely shaken and distressed following the attack.

“I am appealing to anyone who saw what happened, or who has any other information, to come forward and assist us with this investigation.”
