Doors smashed down at Guildford High Street jewellers

Two men in hoodies have broken into a jewellers on Guildford, making off with thousands of pounds worth of goods.

Surrey Police were called to Ernest Jones on the High Street in the early hours of Wednesday (August 30).

The two suspects are thought to have attacked the door and window display.

They then made off up the High Street towards Chapel Street with a large quantity of jewellery.

One man is believed to have been wearing a balaclava.

Witnesses described the suspects as two white males, less than 5ft tall, wearing grey and black hoodies.

The store was closed today following the incident.

A sign on the Ernest Jones door read: "Due to an incident the store will be closed today. Sorry for any inconvenience.

"Urgent matters and deliveries to side door please."
