Tree falls on train near Worplesdon

Published at 8:22am 6th June 2017. (Updated at 2:24pm 6th June 2017)

A fallen tree blocked the lines between Guildford and Woking this morning (June 6).

It was near Worplesdon, where we were told a tree was leaning on the train.

South West Trains has said all fallen trees have now been cleared, but delays can be expected.

The rail company said it follows overnight blustery weather, with heavy rain and high winds across the network.

It said there could be further damage from trees throughout the day, with more service disruption, as winds are currently forecast to reach speeds of up to 55mph.

They are advising you to to check your journey before you travel.
