Guildford's 8th annual beer festival returns!

Published at 12:35pm 3rd June 2017.

The white marquees at the far end of the Guildford Cricket club ground only mean one thing...

It's the return of the annual Guildford Beer Festival this weekend (2-3 June).

The event is now in its 8th year and celebrates local beers and ciders.

The Festival also welcomes 10 new breweries to this year’s line up of nearly 30 breweries and cider makers, all from within a 30-mile radius of the town.

There'll be around 100 cask ales, craft beers and ciders, as well as soft drinks and local wines.

A hog roast and BBQ, and wood fired pizza will also be available.

New to this year’s Festival will be The Silent Pool Gin Bar, offering bespoke, hand crafted gin and vodka from Silent Pool Distillers based in the Surrey Hills, and expertly served with Fever Tree tonic.

The Festival takes place across three sessions: the evening of Friday, June 2nd as well as the afternoon and evening of Saturday, June 3rd at the Guildford Cricket Club in Woodbridge Road.

Musical acts this year include singer/songwriter Luch Stefano who will open on Friday evening, followed by the Sheratons – winners of the Guildford Beer Festival music competition.

University of Surrey student Nick Griffiths will open the Saturday afternoon session, with Guildford resident Tom Worrell and his band as the headline act in the afternoon.

Chairman of the Festival James Faulkner says, “It’s fantastic to live in a location which has such a wide variety of independent beer, cider and wine producers.

The Guildford Beer Festival is the perfect opportunity to discover and try an unparalleled range of drinks all made on our doorstep.

I'm delighted for 2017 that we've extended the choice of drinks to include gin and vodka at the Silent Pool Gin Bar."

Tickets are available online from the GBF website
