Get your sunnies out! Heatwave hits Surrey and Hampshire

Published at 11:40am 26th May 2017. (Updated at 12:10pm 26th May 2017)

Get your sunnies out and get ready to sizzle!

Surrey and Hampshire can enjoy basking in the sunshine today - and for the start of the long weekend.

Temperatures across our two counties could reach a maximum of 27 degrees Celsius.

It follows a hot day on Thursday too, where temperatures reached the highest of this year so far.

The hot spell could persuade even more people to take to the roads for a last-minute trip, with the RAC suggesting the spring bank holiday traffic could be the busiest in four years.

Huge queues were already seen building outside the lido on Friday (May 26) morning.

It's set to be a muggy night ahead with lows of 17 degrees.

Saturday will be warm and humid, feeling even hotter with highs of 28 degrees Celsius.

But we may see some showers in the afternoon.

It's all change by Sunday though, with the Met Office issuing a yellow warning in place for rain.

Sunday will be cooler and fresher than of late, turning cloudy later with heavy overnight showers.

Five ideas of things to do in the sun.
