A man has died after being struck by a train in Albury. 

British Transport Police confirmed he was hit at Ford Crossing on Saturday (May 20). 

Officers and South East Coast Ambulance Service paramedics were called to the scene at 8.39am. 

The 34-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene and his family has been informed of his death. 

A spokesman from BTP said: "Officers were called to Ford Crossing in Albury following reports of a person struck by a train.

"The call came into police at 8.39am on Saturday 20 May.

"Officers attended alongside paramedics. A 34-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The incident isn't being treated as suspicious. 

Train lines were suspended between Guildford and Redhill on Saturday morning, following the incident.
