Published at 3:56pm 10th July 2018.

25 year old forward Evan Ritt is the newest member of the line-up that will take to Spectrum ice on behalf of the Guildford Flames ice hockey club next season.  The 6’0”, 185lb native of Lakewood, Colorado, USA, iced 36 games last term in his first season of pro hockey with French outfit Gap where he had 11 goals and 16 regular season points. He also iced 4 other times in playoff and Champions League activity.

“I'm really excited and grateful for the opportunity to come play for the Flames,” explained Ritt.  “I've heard great things about the organization, and I was really impressed with Coach Dixon when we spoke over the phone.”

“I'm excited to meet the people of Guildford, and most importantly, for the opportunity to play for a championship.

In 2012-2013, Ritt iced 57 games of Junior hockey with Jamestown Ironmen of the North American Hockey League before making his collegiate debut the following year with NCAA Denver University Pioneers.  During his final season combining academics and athletics, Ritt made 41 starts, recording 2 goals and 12 points.  His stay included a conference championship in 2013-2014 and a National title in his final stint.

“Evan was really keen to join us, and we are thrilled to have him commit to us,” said Head Coach Paul Dixon. “He can play the game at pace which is really important to us, and he looks to be a really good fit in helping us improve on the overall quality of our forward group.”

“Last year we had a great group of guys come together in the dressing room, and I have no doubt in speaking to Evan that he will slot beautifully into that dynamic.”

“Last year was his first year in pro hockey and he did very well with a good side in France, and we are looking forward to what he can do with us with that experience now under his belt.”
