Back for seasons 10 and 11 with The Guildford Flames

Jez Lundin, the 7th longest tenured Flames player of all time after joining the outfit in 2009-2010, has agreed a new contract that will carry him through his 10th and 11th seasons with the club.  Barring unforeseen events, late in the coming term, the American born, British trained Defenceman will move into elite club company when he gets to 600 games to join the only 4 other players to have achieved such longevity under Spectrum lights.  The 30 year old returned to the Elite League last season when the Flames moved to the top flight, and a 5 goal, 23 point term while icing in all 66 games earned him an invite to training camp with the GB national side.

In 544 Flames starts, the 6”0’, 200lb skater has 80 goals and 250 assists.  His Elite League career, including time with Newcastle Vipers between 2006 and 2009, includes 225 outings, 11 goals and 43 points.

“Jez had a really solid season for us,” said Head Coach Paul Dixon. “In the Elite League he has the opportunity to play with a much deeper line-up and I think that helped take a bit of the pressure off that he may have carried in previous years.”

“He was a deserving call up to the GB camp, and we are glad to have been able to get to an agreement to keep him here going forward.”

The former under 18 and 20 GB International opened his Spectrum residence as part the Premier Cup winning team.  That was his first of 8 trophies including the 2010-2011 playoffs, back to back League-Cup “doubles” across 2011-2012 and 2012-2013 as well as the 2015-2016 Cup-Playoff “double”.

His international credits include 5 caps with the GB team that won the Gold medal at the world under 18 championships in 2006.  In 2008 he had a goal and an assist for the national programme during the World Junior Under 20 tournament.
