The Guildford Flames line up is complete

Published at 2:40pm 29th August 2017. (Updated at 2:42pm 29th August 2017)

The Flames have made a late addition to the roster with the signing of 27 year old Canadian forward Brett Ferguson.  The 6’0, 195lb native of Vibank, Saskatchewan iced just 2 games last season in France during Champions League activity with Gap. Injury ended his season virtually before it started, and extensive medical intervention has him now approaching full competitive fitness.

“This is a great opportunity to let the fans, staff, and my new teammates know how excited I am to be a part of the Flames,” Ferguson explained.  “After having lost almost a full season due to injury, I am extremely motivated and excited to get back on the ice and help the team achieve our goals!”

“It has been an unusual set of circumstances that led us to Brett,” said Paul Dixon. “Initially we actually had a fully contracted roster, but a change in circumstances very recently opened up a spot, and we already knew that Brett was very eager to join us.”

“Earlier in the summer when he was not as far along in his rehab, we were thinking of him as a guy who may join us at some stage during the season, if an opening presented itself, but we are pleased to be able to move that timeline up.”

“He plays a well rounded game.  He will aggressively go to the net, he sees the ice well, he can pass the puck, and he plays tough.”

“There is a lot of paperwork to get him into the UK, but he still needs a few more weeks of non-contact play anyway, so the administration process and his return to fitness line up beautifully.”
