European Parliamentary Election details released for Surrey and Hampshire

The Election for 10 members of the European Parliament for the South East Region is due to take place next month.

The vote is will be held on Thursday 23 May following the extension of Article 50 until October, unless the UK leaves before then.

How to vote:

Polling stations will open at 7am and close at 10pm on Thursday 23 May.

Polling cards will be sent out to all eligible electors and will display which polling station you will need to visit.

If you aren’t already registered to vote, you need to do so be 7 May and can do so online

The deadline to apply to vote by post, or to change your existing postal voting arrangements, is 5pm on 8 May.

If you need someone to vote on your behalf on 23 May, you can apply to appoint a proxy by 5pm on 15 May.


Nomination papers must be delivered to the Regional Returning Officer (RRO) or his Deputy at Room 84, West Wing Basement, Civic Centre, Southampton, SO14 7LY on any day after the date of this notice, Monday to Friday - 10am to 4pm (excluding bank holidays), but no later than 4pm on Thursday 25 April 2019.

Nomination papers may be obtained from the RRO’s office, from the same place and during the same times stated above.
