A walk through Guildford today (September 8) will retrace the path of a suffragettes march in 1913.

The event is to highlight the Representation of the People Act which was passed 100 years ago, giving the vote to some women for the first time.

The Walk for Suffrage is part of Guildford Walkfest - a series of organised walks around the town.

The route will follow the path of the Great Pilgrimage which passed through Guildford in 1913.

Organiser Amanda Creese said: "This is a great opportunity for the women of Guildford of all ages to come and remember the huge sacrifices that our predecessors made in order to get the vote."

Men are also welcome.

The walk starts at Artington Park & Ride at 11:30am, finishing in the High Street.
