Brigadier Paul Evans OBE DL will join the Mayor and Colonel (Retired) Patrick Crowley, Deputy Colonel The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment on the balcony of the Guildhall as the Armed Forces Day Flag is raised at 12 noon.

Then, on Armed Forces Day, Saturday 30 June, the 2nd Battalion of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment will be marching through the town.

The parade will step off at 12.15pm from Town Bridge and will come to a halt outside Holy Trinity Church where there will be a short service and presentation of a commemorative scroll by the Mayor, Cllr Mike Parsons.

Cllr Mike Parsons, Mayor of Guildford, said: "I'm delighted to be taking part in the flag raising ceremony and to support the military parade through Guildford.

"The people of Guildford are very proud of our Armed Forces and it is very fitting for us to welcome the 2nd Battalion of the Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment.

"'The Tigers' as they are known is our local regiment and many regimental families and veterans live within the county of Surrey."
