Teenager charged after Weybridge station stabbing

An 18-year-old has been charged after a man was stabbed in the hip at Weybridge station.

Callum Simmons, of Down Street, West Molesey, was arrested following the incident which happened at around 11am yesterday (19 December).

He was charged with one count of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and one count of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

He will appear at Staines Magistrates' Court today. 

The victim, a man in his teens, was taken to hospital for treatment to non-life threatening injuries. 

Officers from the British Transport Police were called following reports of a serious assault on one of the platforms.
