Men "armed with knives" rob Weybridge Currys PC World

Published at 4:13pm 2nd October 2018.

Staff at Weybridge Currys PC World have been left "extremely shaken" after three men claiming to be armed robbed the store yesterday lunchtime.

The men escaped with five Samsung mobile phones from a display after threatening staff and saying that they were carrying knives.

Police are now appealing for witnesses and want to speak to anyone who entered the store on the Brooklands Industrial Estate between 1:25 and 1:55 yesterday (1 October) afternoon.

Officers described the first man as of dual heritage, in his late 20s, of a slim build and wearing a black suede tracksuit, a bucket hat with a red lining, a grey or white top, a gold watch and a silver chain with the word “savage” on it.

He is said to have spoken with a London accent and had a black Adidas bag around his waist.

The second man is described as white, in his late 20s, around 6ft tall, of a medium build, with facial stubble and carrying a black Adidas baseball bat. He was wearing a beige jumper with a black triangle logo on the front, dark blue ripped jeans and black trainers.

The third man is described as white and wearing a reversible dark blue puffed jacket with a logo on the front, a black North Face baseball cap, dark-coloured jogging bottoms and dark green trainers.

No vehicles were seen during the incident.

In a statement Surrey Police said: "Although none of the staff were injured during the robbery, they have been left extremely shaken by their ordeal.

"We are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or who was in the area at the time and may have any other information, to come forward straightaway. "

Anyone with information is asked to call 101, quoting crime reference PR/45180104940 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
