14 years of suicide rates in Elmbridge revealed

Suicides in Elmbridge between 2002 and 2015 have been revealed.

Data shows the highest number recorded in the borough was 14 in 2014, meanwhile the lowest was 6, in 2002, 2003 and 2012.

From the data collected over these 14 years, the average was 9.5 suicides per year.

In Surrey and Hampshire, Basingstoke and Deane had the highest average with 13.43, while Hart had the lowest average, with 4.5.

In our two counties, there were a combined 179 suicides in 2015, which are the most recent figures available.

In March, Eagle Radio reported that suicide rates of boys in Surrey and Hampshire are double that of girls
