Published at 6:50am 18th October 2019. (Updated at 8:46am 18th October 2019)

The Environment Agency has warned of the risk of roads flooding across parts of Surrey and Hampshire in the wake of recent heavy rain.

It has issued an alert for the Upper River Wey including Alton, Farnham, Bordon, Frensham, Tilford, Godalming, Guildford and Peasmarsh.

An alert is also in place for Cranleigh Waters including Elmbridge, Shamley Green and Bramley and the Littlemead Brook including Cranleigh.

River levels are expected to continue rising in the area this morning at Passfield  Mill.

The EA says farmland could also be flooded, but that properties are not currently at risk.

It said their incident response staff have been in the area clearing weed and trash screens.
