'We don't know what's going on'

Nearby residents on Ripley High Street had to be evacuated from their homes at around 1pm this afternoon (July 3).

One woman said:

"They just said they we need to evacuate and everybody has to leave. We were told to take enough for the rest of the day just in case, but we don't know what's going on because no one is telling us."

Another resident who was evacuated said:

"They said we'll be out for the whole of the afternoon, possibly, but we just don't know. They're not telling us anything else.

"I've been home because I had to get something to eat when I was hungry so they let me in quick to get something and then bring it out again.

"But apart from that we're just sitting around waiting."

The bomb squad has reportedly been called in to look at the substance used on the cash machines.

Three men wearing dark coloured hoodies and with their faces covered were caught in the act on CCTV during the incident in Camberley.

It caused extensive damage.

The three men got out of a BMW 5 Series or Audi A6.

A dark coloured car believed to be similar to a BMW 5 Series or Audi A6 is seen arriving in the car park.

The men are seen returning to the car to collect items before attempting to use a substance to cause an explosion inside the cash machine.

No entry was made into the machine and no cash was taken.
