Elderly man in "life-threatening condition" following Alton Crash

An elderly man is in a "life-threatening condition" following a serious crash in Alton.

A car crashed into a wall, before rolling onto its side along Butts Road at around 2.30pm this afternoon (September 21). 

Hampshire Police have said the single vehicle collision involved a Nissan Micra which hit a lamppost and overturned.

South Central Ambulance Service has confirmed the man, in his 70s, is has been take to North Hampshire Hospital along with a woman, also in her 70s, who has suffered minor injuries.

The air ambulance was seen landing on a field nearby The Butts Primary School in Alton. 

Two ambulances, two rapid response vehicles, a consultant pre-hospital care practitioner in a rapid response car were also in attendance.

Butts Road currently remains shut in both directions.
