Yateley toddler Freddie Hunt began his first day of school today (September 3).

The 4-year-old is attending Henry Tyndale Early Years three days a week to start, before building up to later years.

His mother Abby Hunt told Eagle: "We drove him this morning and the bus will bring him home, next week he will get the bus both ways once he's familiar with it all, bless him."

Posting on the Together for Freddie community Facebook page, she said: "Big lump in my throat but first day of school."

She added: "Finding that quite emotional , but I know it won’t worry Freddie his bravery and nature of acceptance is admirable to us all."

Freddie has been battling a brain tumor since he was first diagnosed on September 22 2016.

At the end of last year he underwent a 4-month intensive program, at Tadworth Court in Epsom.

He is currently wheelchair bound and has also been battling 'hypothalamic obesity' since his brain surgery in the US in January 2017.
