Hampshire firefighters mourn loss of 'local legend'

Firefighters across Hampshire are mourning the loss of Watch Manager Mick Paul.

He passed away peacefully last night (January 20 )surrounded by his loved ones. 

On Tuesday (January 16), it was reported Mick was in a 'critical condition', following an accident. 

The fire service say Mick dedicated over 44 years of service protecting his community.

Tributes have flooded in saying he "will be deeply missed by the people of Odiham and the Emergency Services Community."

Odiham Fire Station has tweeted to pay tribute, describing him as a 'legend'. 

Rushmoor Fire Station has also paid tribute.

Eagle Radio's Kim Robson describes him as a local legend who ran the Odiham Fire Show for many years.
