Funeral to take place for "brave and courageous" Liphook boy

The funeral of a "brave and courageous" Liphook boy will take place in Bramshot today.

12-year-old Alfie Jones had a rare illness that left him seriously unwell.

He sadly passed away on July 13th, peacefully at home.

In June, his grandma, Angie James, decided to take on the challenge of granting him three wishes.

The first was to have an Apple Macbook Pro and the second was to have a special games room.

Within a week both of these were granted.

However, the third and final wish was proving much more difficult.

"He also really wants to meet either KSI, Deji or Jacksepticeye" Angie told Eagle.

All three are YouTubers with millions of subscribers to their individual channels.

"If the lads could be there, then I know that would really be the icing on the cake" she added.

"I honestly do think that it would fulfill his dreams."

Just days after this, someone got in touch with Eagle Radio to explain that they had a potential lead.

Then after several days of phone calls and uncertainty, brothers KSI and Deji came to visit Alfie.

KSI arrived first and spent time with him before presenting him with a signed football shirt that he had worn in a charity match.

Shortly after, Deji walked through the door too.

In a statement, following Alfie's death, his mother said: "As a family, we would like to thank everybody who showed their kind lovingness and best wishes for Alfie.

"He was a courageous and brave little boy who never stopped fighting. He was loved by all and will be sadly missed.

"We'd also like to thank everyone who treated and nursed Alfie in his courageous battle. We love you Alfie."

Alfie will be laid to rest at St Mary's Church in Bramshot at 11am on Wednesday morning (July 25).
