A man killed when a tree fell onto his car in Odiham has been identified.

48-year-old David Hoyle of Dippenhall Street, Crondall was going along the A287 when it happened.

It was at around 7.20am on Tuesday (June 6) between Rye Common and Ewshot.

The road was closed for a number of hours whilst police investigated.

Hampshire Police say his next of kin are being supported by specialist officers.

An inquest is due to take place in August.
