Guildford man in life-threatening condition after A31 Alton crash

A man is in a life-threatening condition after a serious crash on the A31 in Alton.

It happened between the B3004 and the A339 Shelborne Road on Wednesday afternoon.

The collision involved a grey Suzuki Swift and a silver Audi A4.

The driver of the Suzuki, a 28-year-old man from Guilford, suffered life-threatening injuries remains at Southampton General Hospital.

The driver of the Audi, a 55-year-old woman from South Wonston, suffered minor injuries.

Hampshire Police is appealing for witnesses.

The road was closed for more than an hour after the crash after 3:30pm.

The A31 has now re-opened.

Officers investigating the exact circumstances of the collision would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the collision or who saw either vehicle prior to the incident.
