To celebrate, we've been getting a little festive and taking a look back at some of the best Christmas songs you'll be able to hear there.

This top 10 was chosen by you, from the results of our Soundcheck survey about which festive tunes you like the most... so here goes 🎅

1. Merry Xmas Everybody - Slade

This one came out back in 1973, and was number one for 5 weeks back then.

It remains one of the most popular songs to this day, with more than 1.2 million sales to date.

2. I Wish It Could Be Christmas Every Day - Wizzard

Roy Wood and his band released this festive banger in the same year as Slade, in December 1973.

It didn't do as well at the time though, only peaking in the Official Charts at number 4 - stood the test of time, mind.

3. Merry Christmas Everyone - Shakin Stevens

Shaky, real name Michael Barratt, released his seasonal offering in 1985, and the last of his four UK number ones.

It was the Christmas number one of that year and has sold well over a million copies since.

4. Last Christmas - Wham!

This one was released in December 1984, as a double A-side with Everything She Wants - and at the time spent 5 weeks at number 2 in the Official Chart.

Band Aid's Do They Know It's Christmas was the festive number one that year.

The song also peaked at number again in January this year, following the sad death of lead singer George Michael.

5. Fairytale of New York - The Pogues featuring Kirsty McColl

The Irish folk ballad was released in 1987 and has been a staple in Christmas playlists ever since.

It peaked at number 2 back then, but has sold around 1.5 million copies to date.

6. All I Want For Christmas Is You - Mariah Carey

This one was released in 1994 as part of Mariah's Christmas album called (cleverly!) Merry Christmas.

It spent 3 weeks at number 2 in the Official Charts initially, and has gone back into the top 5 in the last couple of festive seasons.

7. Stop the Cavalry - Jona Lewie

The song was originally not intended to be a festive song, despite the line 'I wish I was at home for Christmas'.

It ended up being released in November 1980, reaching number 3 in the Official Charts and staying there for 5 weeks.

8. Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow - Dean Martin

This one is the oldest on our list, recorded back in 1996 for the Rat Pack member's Christmas album.

It was only released as a single in 2007, but it still one of the most popular festive offerings.

9. Wonderful Christmastime - Paul McCartney

The former Beatle's Christmas release is from 1979 and peaked at number 6 in the Official Charts.

It's estimated that Sir Paul earns more than £310,000 every year from the song.

10. Sleigh Ride - Ronettes

This version of the song was recorded in 1963, as a Phil Spector production, but the original is from back in 1949.
