Local businesses set to benefit from snow chaos

Published at 5:41pm 1st March 2018.

The Beast from the East has finally hit the streets of Surrey and Hampshire with snowfall, poor visibility and icy conditions.

But, while schools and roads come to a standstill, local businesses are benefiting from the winter weather.

As part of their work to keep the people of Surrey and Hampshire informed within their communities, Eagle Radio provides systems and resources for schools in their broadcast area, which allow the effective reporting and promotion of closure when the bad weather hits.

On Wednesday morning eagleradio.co.uk saw record amounts of traffic to the website as children begged parents to find out if their dreams had come true and that they will be getting that rarest of holidays known only as a ‘Snow Day’.

As well as providing important local information to its listeners, Eagle Radio also provides advertising opportunities for businesses to help increase both brand awareness, online engagement and direct sales.

Businesses advertising on eagleradio.co.uk not only received a boost in their advertising for free on Wednesday but, come Thursday morning, the Beast had really kicked in and the website broke records again!

With overall page views set to reach nearly a million in 48 hours, any business with display banner advertising on Eagle’s website will see a dramatic increase in their impression rate at no extra cost!

On average, display banners on Eagle Radio’s website, have received 20 times their usual impression rate. Some businesses have even received nearly 100,000 impressions of their brand to people within Surrey and Hampshire.

So you see, not everything’s ground to a halt, some things have taken off like a rocket!
