A famous Aldershot chip shop is to close its doors for the final time on Friday (May 12).

Bradshaw's will shut for good on Friday evening, calling time on over 80 years of trading.

It has been open since 1933.

According to a statement posted on the chippy's Facebook page 'master fryer' Charlie is retiring.

The statement reads: "We will be open Friday as normal, we will then be closing down.

"Charlie the master fryer of some 55 years will then take his next journey, retirement!

"We would like to thank all our loyal customers for their business over the many years we have been trading.

"We hope that you manage to find good Fish and Chips in the future."

Many people have posted messages, with some saying they are 'gutted' and others claiming Bradshaw's to be 'the best fish and chip shop in Aldershot'.
