Saturday 8th June, 2019

Join us for the Surrey New Writers Festival , featuring panel discussions on publishing in magazines and journals, building a career as a short story writer, women writing the future, and the importance of diversity in publishing. There will also be readings from new and established writers, as well as a Writing for Wellbeing table providing you with a chance to chat about your work or any concerns you might have.

This year’s event includes the Surrey Poetry Festival Poetry Stage and will feature special guest poets invited by University of Surrey’s Poet-in-Residence. The day will finish with readings by Sophie Mackintosh whose debut novel, The Water Cure, was longlisted for the Man Booker Prize, and Keston Sutherland, Professor of Poetics at University of Sussex and author of multiple collections of poetry including his recent, Whither Russia.
