About:
Tuesday 15th January, recitals commence at 12.45pm. Kaleidoscope Two: Lunchtime Organ Recitals, Philip Scriven performs on the Mander Organ in Cranleigh School Chapel:

‘Kaleidoscope II’ is the second part of a major two-year recital series by Cranleigh’s brilliant Organist in Residence – showcasing the extraordinary sonic colours of the organ through a kaleidoscope of music written for the ‘King of Instruments’.

Through eighteen recitals spread over the two years, Philip Scriven will explore the rich variety and enormous wealth of music written for the organ during the 20th century. Not only will be perform the complete organ works of Maurice Duruflé, Paul Hindemith, John Ireland and Hubert Parry (in his centenary year), but the music of over forty other composers will also be featured, most notably Herbert Howells and Joseph Jongen.
