Why did Eagle Radio playing this song throughout the day?

On Saturday 15th November history repeated itself on a grandiose scale with the recording of Band Aid 30

Loads of artists entered Sarm Studios for the day to record a new version of the classic “Do They Know It’s Christmas” with new vocals, new music, produced by Midge Ure & Paul Epworth.

The entire project is non-profit and all proceeds will go to the Band Aid Trust who will administer funds from #BandAid30 towards efforts to fight the spread of Ebola and to care for its victims.

All partners involved have given their time & services up for free to be a part of history.

Eagle Radio is playing the song to help raise awareness for this cause.

What is Ebola? Click here

It is 30 years almost to the date when the great musicians and stars of the '80's gathered to record Do They Know It's Christmas on behalf of the starving in Africa.

This year it will be for those dying of an untreatable virus, Ebola. Again in Africa. Both starvation and disease are the consequence of Poverty.

So thank you for donating and supporting the cause

Pop may be a small little art form but look how powerful it can be. Thanks for joining us.

 Yours sincerely

 Bob Geldof

It's Christmas time - And there's no need to be afraid
At Christmas time - We let in light - And banish shade
And in our world of plenty - We can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world
At Christmas time

But say a prayer - Pray for the other ones
At Christmas time - It's hard but while you're having fun
There's a world outside your window - And it's a world of dread and
fear
Where a kiss of love can kill you - And there's death in every tear
And the Christmas bells that ring there - Are the clanging chimes of
doom
Well tonight we're reaching out
and touching you

No peace and joy this Christmas in West Africa -
The only hope they'll have is being alive -
Where to comfort is to fear -
Where to touch is to be scared -
How can they know it's Christmas time
at all

Here's to you
Raise a glass to everyone
And here's to them
And all their years to come
Let them know it's Christmas after all

Feed the world Let them know it's Christmastime again
Feel the world Let them know it's Christmastime again
Heal the world Let them know it's Christmastime again
