Eagle Radio's Great Balloon Race has closed!

The furthest balloon reported was found in Canterbury in Kent, an impressive 76 miles from Great Balloon Race launch site (as the crow flies).

Eagle Radio Trust, which supports local causes, also received £2,596.33

Catherine Tunbridge from Aldershot was the lucky listener from the draw of people who backed that balloon and won herself £1,000.

Charity money awarded

More information on Christopher's Smile - Karen set up the charity after losing her son to cancer 3 years ago.  They aim to fund research into new treatments for cancers where the prognosis is particularly bad.  The money will be used to help plug a funding gap for their second researcher, who started work in May, looking at which treatment combinations work best.

More information on Eagle Radio Trust – a small charity trust which supports local causes in Surrey & Hampshire including charities, individuals and non-profit making organisations.
